21 April 2012 /24-7PressRelease / -Teen-driver Car Accident deaths increased at the national level

Accidents are the leading cause of death among 16 to 19 years, and the statistics show that they are on the rise nationally. According to the Association of security of the highway of Governors, the most recent data available preliminary - for the first half of 2011 - shows that the number of times 16 - and 17 killed in a car accident is increasing.

New Jersey fatal car Accidents

In New Jersey, the trend is in contrast, but this does not necessarily mean that the State is a model of the upper road. Fatality rate of teen-driver of the State in the first half of 2011 was lower in the same period in the previous year, the bottom of three fatal accidents at two.

The increase of the national teen fatality rate is alarming for safety advocates since the death in adolescents and overall road deaths had gradually diminished, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Possible explanations for the increase in deaths of accident among adolescents and other deaths from car accidents include a greater number of young drivers on the road, reports the GSHA. Distracted driving, including the use of cell phones and text while driving, is also a contributing factor.

Another common problem is the presence of other teenagers in the car. For example, young people of 17 years have a higher by 48 per cent risk of causing a fatal accident, when a young passenger is present. Their risk double with two young companions in the car and the triple with three or more passengers, according to the Hospital of Philadelphia children.

Teen passengers increase the risk

According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, when the young passengers are with them in the car, teen drivers are more likely to engage in the following dangerous driving behaviors:
-Speeding
-Red lights
-Making of yaw
-Calibration
-Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Those who were injured or lost a loved one in a car accident should contact a qualified injury lawyer who can fight for your interest in dealing with your company insurance, the other driver and their representatives.
