Complications at birth: trauma at birth and cerebral palsy

Cerebral palsy is a generic term which covers several different conditions, but it generally refers to a progressive impairment of motor function of the individual which causes a physical disability. If a child is born without obvious risk factors, doctors are often unable to make a diagnosis, until they see a delay in the normal progression of development. Children with cerebral palsy normally appear symptoms during the first three years of life. Some signs and common symptoms include:
-Production delayed development brands such as crawl, walk or talk
-Difficulty of power and suction
-Elongated in poses
-Lack of coordination
-Rampant in unusual way
-Favouring one side of the body
-Developed or underdeveloped muscles
-Stiff muscles abnormally contracts
-Low range of movement
-Swallowing problems
-Seizures

Many cases of cerebral palsy are the result of problems during pregnancy or during childbirth injuries that damage the brain or affect its development. The majority of brain lesions in children with cerebral palsy occurs during the first six months of pregnancy. Experts believe that a lack of oxygen during pregnancy or birth may cause the destruction of the cells in the brain of the unborn baby. Brain damage can also be caused by low blood pressure, premature birth, who use illicit drugs during pregnancy or infection like rubella.

Experts also believe that the bleeding within the brain of the unborn baby can cause cerebral palsy by judgment of the blood supply to the brain tissue, which can damage or cause the brain to die. The factors that can lead to a stroke during pregnancy or birth are:
-Pre-eclampsia
-Emergency caesarean
-Extends the second stage of labor
-Extraction vacuum
-Inflammation of the placenta
-Anomalies with cord
-Infection inflammatory basin of the mother

Experts also believe that premature babies or babies with a low birth weight can not be developed enough to handle life outside the uterus. These stresses can increase the risk of cerebral palsy. Are factors which can lead to a higher risk of cerebral palsy: deliveries and multiple births among others.
